Job description

The position will be part of the Aegon Spain audit team. The position is responsible and accountable for planning, execution and reporting of audit activity as assigned and directed by the Chief Audit Executive of Spain with the guidance of the Group IT Audit Manager, in accordance with internal standards, professional standards and guidelines of the IIA.

Main responsabilities

  • Lead independent & objective end-to-end IT and/or business audits as required by local and/or global IA management:
    • Use of risk based auditing to quantify risk and identify control weaknesses.
    • Prepare process flow documentation including flowcharts and narratives for control identification.
    • Perform design evaluation on key controls identified and perform tests of transactions where relevant.
    • Document all work performed within and make sure it is properly reviewed.
    • Review the work performed by other team members.
    • Support other audit members with IT related matters.
    • Produce quality reports and coordinate the issuance of the final report.
    • Proactively assess and verify remediation of the improvements and actions taken by management to mitigate risk or improve efficiency.
    • Demonstrate effective problem resolution, decision making and communications during all project phases using a proactive and positive approach.

 Professional requirements

  • Degree and/or post-graduate degree in economics / accounting / IT
  • Professional qualifications such as CIA, CISA (are desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years General and IT Audit experience in public accountancy firms or multi-national organizations
  • Knowledge of auditing techniques. Experience auditing:  IT processes; technological risks; continuity and contingency risks; Business Processes.
  • Knowledge of IT: standards (e.g. ISO 27001, PCI-DSS), frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITIL),  technical systems and emerging technology
  • Insurance and / or Financial industry knowledge will be desirable.
  • English & Spanish: high spoken and written skills.
